Lieber Institute researchers, in collaboration with colleagues at the National Institute of Mental Health, have successfully cultured fibroblasts from dura and scalp of postmortem brain donors. These fibroblasts in turn can be converted into iPS cells for additional research into the mechanisms of neurological and psychiatric disorders.
