Dan Weinberger, Lieber Institute Director & CEO, Tom Hyde, Chief Operating Officer and Joo Heon Shin, Director of the RNA Sequencing Core at the Institute, traveled to Seoul for the “Commemorative Symposium for the opening of the Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) Brain Bank” and a collaborative meeting with the Seoul National University, College of Medicine, the leading medical center and school in S. Korea. In a formal ceremony Dr. Weinberger signed an agreement between the Lieber Institute and Seoul National University that will establish a collaborative effort to develop a new brain tissue initiative, jointly funded by both institutions. The establishment of an Asian brain collection here at LIBD is an important advancement for the LIBD Brain repository and the beginning of a significant partnership between the Lieber Institute and Seoul National University.
