Geo Pertea is a bioinformatics engineer working on large scale research software and data projects, collaborating with researchers across the Institute. Geo applies his background in bioinformatics to develop data retrieval systems and computational pipelines for multi-dimensional biological data. Geo earned his M.D. at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” in Bucharest, Romania, and a M.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to joining the Lieber Institute as a Staff Scientist II, Geo worked on the development of highly recognized bioinformatics software for RNA-Seq analysis at the Center for Computational Biology, Johns Hopkins University.
