About

Matt Tran (he/him) is a Human Genetics Ph.D. candidate in the labs of Keri Martinowich and Andrew Jaffe. His research interests are using single-cell ‘omics’ to understand cell type heterogeneity in neurodevelopment and the adult brain, and using these various data to evaluate the biological contexts of psychiatric disease genetic risk. Matt earned his B.S. in Microbiology at The University of Texas at Austin, and previously worked in T cell immunotherapy at MD Anderson Cancer Center, before matriculating into the Human Genetics Program at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2017.
