We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of singer and songwriter Naomi Judd, a dear friend of the Lieber Institute for Brain Development. As a member of our Champions Council, Naomi supported our work examining the genetics and biology of mental illness. She understood that learning more about the biological underpinnings of depression was the key to treating and preventing the disease. Her commitment to education and advocacy was inspiring. Our hearts are with her family in their time of loss.
