Lieber Institute investigators presented a poster at this year’s annual Amygdala, Stress and PTSD Conference in Bethesda, MD. The poster, “Genetic risk mechanisms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in the human brain,” highlights important findings related to genetic risk for developing PTSD. Based on the preliminary results, scientists will now look to implement the approach used on a larger scale and in more regions of the brain. Taking this successful approach further will hopefully lead to greater insights to identify potential targets for treatment.

The conference, sponsored by the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress, was the 11th annual meeting.
