Mission Forward Grants
July 3, 2018
Baltimore, MD
Earlier this year, LIBD announced the first internal funding opportunity titled “Mission Forward”. The goal is to fund projects with novel, innovative, and mission centric objectives that will help propel the mission of LIBD forward as well as foster internal interdisciplinary collaborations.
Funding was made available for three projects for a duration of one year. In addition, LIBD consulted an external research development firm to assist with the review process.
Three scientists earned the first ever Mission Forward grants:
Kristen Maynard, Ph.D.: “Molecular dissection of reward circuitry in comorbid major depressive disorder and opioid addiction”
Henry Hallock, Ph.D.: “Molecular signature of prefrontal projecting hippocampal neurons”
Brittany Davis, Ph.D.: “Mapping chromatin dynamics, transcriptional regulation and physiological change after activity-induced circuitry stress in neuropsychiatric models”

Congratulations to the first Mission Forward awardees, we look forward to the exciting work!
