On June 3rd, Dr. Kandel visited the Walters Art Gallery in Baltimore as the guest of the Art Seminar Group and the Brain Science Institute to give a lecture in celebration of retiring Walters Director, Gary Vikan. The title of Dr. Kandel’s fascinating talk was about his newly published book, “The Age of Insight: The Quest to Understand the Unconscious in Art, Mind, and Brain from Vienna 1900 to the Present”. Following the event at the Walters the Lieber Institute held a reception in Dr. Kandel’s honor. Dr. Kandel, a preeminent American neuropsychiatrist and Nobel Prize winner, is a Lieber Institute Extramural Investigator.
