Stephen Semick joined the Lieber Institute as a Research Associate in August 2016. He works as a data scientist under Dr. Andrew Jaffe analyzing high-throughput genomic data, like gene expression, DNA methylation, and sequence variation. Stephen graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2016 with bachelor degrees in Physiology & Neurobiology and Mathematics. While studying at the University of Maryland, Stephen used electroencephalography to investigate normal and pathopsychological visual affective processing. Stephen aims to go to medical school and continue his research into neuropsychiatric disorders.
